About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage participant communications and engagement strategies for Large, Mega, and Not-for-Profit clients
- Manage ad-hoc initiatives including Merger & Acquisition transitions, plan design rollouts, and annual enrollment campaigns
- Develop and implement virtual-first, data-driven engagement approaches
- Influence participant behavior and drive measurable outcomes
- Serve as a trusted client consultant by presenting strategies, gaining consensus, and providing regular updates in person, virtually, and by phone
- Partner with Relationship Management, Communications, Education, Marketing, Product, clients, advisors, and intermediaries
- Define campaign scope, logistics, and success metrics
- Oversee project workflow including planning, creative briefing, approvals, budget tracking, and metrics reporting
- Create and tailor engagement materials using templates and custom assets
- Align materials with client brand, plan design, and participant needs
- Make client recommendations aligned with the appropriate service model and participant wellness goals
- Improve return on investment
- Mentor less tenured team members
- Contribute to department strategy and innovation
- Manage a book of clients or projects
- Travel up to 20% as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, journalism, communications, finance, education, or related field
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in the retirement services industry
- Strong knowledge of defined contribution, defined benefit, and non-qualified plans
- At least 5 years of experience in participant engagement, education, or communications
- Experience with multi-channel strategy development and campaign delivery
- Client management experience in corporate benefits, education, or marketing
- Ability to build relationships and drive consensus at all levels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and engagingly
- Advanced project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight timelines
- High competency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with Workfront, Salesforce, and digital engagement platforms
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools for synthesizing information and creating communications
- Understanding of budget management and reporting
- Ability to align campaign recommendations to client goals
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with seasonal volume fluctuations
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship unavailable, including CPT/OPT
- Ability to travel by air, automobile, train, and other transportation means
- Reliable high-speed internet with a wired connection and suitable home workspace for remote work
