About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive and implement a comprehensive test strategy using appropriate testing tools and techniques
- Design and deliver quality tests and automated data-testing scenarios
- Facilitate knowledge transfers to other testers
- Work with BSAs and developers to define system requirements and acceptance criteria
- Understand software impact across other system areas and identify requirements gaps
- Define testing scope, including systems integration and regression testing
- Apply test techniques to ensure coverage
- Collaborate with development on automated tests from unit and integration tests through user-journey tests
- Create and maintain test data
- Perform exploratory and manual testing across web service and user interface layers
- Check screen, file, and database outputs
- Establish test strategies for performance and load testing
- Maintain team quality standards and champion improved practices
- Review team outputs and maintain standards
- Demonstrate functionality and user stories to product owners and during team showcases
- Provide input into user story points and estimates
- Anticipate risks, provide test-result updates to management, and drive issue resolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience
- Five plus years’ experience in a QA/Testing technical role
- Proven track record of testing software developments in a structured environment
- Experience of defect lifecycle and advising on tests after fixes
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
- Understanding of test levels from unit testing to UAT
- Ability to improve project practices and processes
- Understanding of application servers, databases, and web services
- Understanding of basic programming constructs
- Experience with test frameworks and scripting automated functional tests
- Experience collaborating with development, business analysis, project management, and SME disciplines
- Experience working on user stories and defining acceptance criteria
- Experience in API and Microservices testing
- Experience in Functional, End-to-End, Regression, and Smoke Testing
- AWS environment experience preferred
- Experience creating test cases using GitHub Copilot preferred
- Accessibility and security testing experience is a value add
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong self-motivation, organization, attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills
