About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support strategic plans and procedures for the U.S. Liquids Pipelines Tanks program
  • Oversee environmental permitting, waste management, data management, and construction support processes
  • Conduct environmental inspections and monitoring
  • Manage compliance documentation, processes, procedures, and technical support for projects
  • Provide advice and assistance to Engineering, Construction Services, Business Development, Law, and other teams
  • Support all phases of project and program development and execution
  • Conduct environmental awareness training and outreach
  • Establish regulatory compliance systems and develop or recommend procedures and written resources
  • Monitor and coordinate storage, sampling, labeling, waste characterization, transport, and disposal of non-hazardous, hazardous, and special wastes
  • Monitor progress, report results, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Serve as a point of contact for specific issues or areas of expertise across U.S. project locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or post-secondary degree in an environmental, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years of related environmental experience, preferably in pipeline, industry, and infrastructure sectors
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and scientific and technical concepts
  • Knowledge of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and environmental protection best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently with excellent organizational skills and minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build relationships with employees, leadership, regulators, contractors, vendors, and the public
  • Ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams
  • Valid driver's license and responsible driving record required
  • Ability to travel and work throughout the United States
  • Ability to perform the stated physical requirements, including lifting objects up to 20 pounds, typing, and prolonged computer use
  • Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
