About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support routine in-line inspection programs and pipeline integrity assessments involving corrosion, cracking, deformation, and interacting threats
  • Review and compare in-line inspection, nondestructive examination, pipeline attributes, operational, and integrity-dig data
  • Identify potential concerns and evaluate inspection-tool performance
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses, including corrosion-growth, remaining-strength, crack-fatigue, fitness-for-service, and threat-interaction evaluations
  • Use Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL, Copilot, and similar tools to organize, analyze, automate, and visualize integrity data
  • Prepare calculations, technical documentation, presentations, plans, forecasts, and draft recommendations for review
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Risk, Mitigation, Operations, vendors, and technical specialists
  • Progress toward engineering competency and qualification milestones
  • Participate in the Non-Destructive Examination on-call rotation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized university
  • Eligible for registration with APEGA
  • Under 2 years of related professional engineering experience
  • Understanding of fundamental engineering principles
  • Ability to assess information, recognize inconsistencies, perform calculations, and develop supported conclusions with guidance
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets and learning tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL, MATLAB, or similar data-analysis and visualization applications
  • Good communication skills for documenting technical work, presenting findings, responding to feedback, and collaborating with engineering, operational, and technical partners
  • Commitment to safety, integrity, inclusion, continuous learning, high-quality work, deadline management, and seeking guidance when needed
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring employment-based sponsorship now or in the future
  • May be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
