About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain electrical systems and equipment including switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, and fans
  • Maintain DC electrical systems and equipment including batteries, chargers, rectifiers, and inverters
  • Maintain station- and unit-level electrical control systems and components including PLCs, HMIs, and control networks
  • Maintain electrical control system end devices including motor controls, pressure transmitters, pressure switches, temperature sensors, limit switches, solenoids, and actuators
  • Maintain safety systems and components including ESD panels, gas detectors, flame detectors, and manual activation switches
  • Assist in planning work and provide budget-related information during the annual budgeting process
  • Ensure operation, compliance, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of station systems including air, air dryer, fuel, cooling, gas compression, prime mover, and other compressor-station equipment
  • Develop operational competencies toward becoming a Level I Station Operator
  • Grow skills toward advancement as an Electrical Controls Technician

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school graduate or equivalent education
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical/instrumentation experience in an industrial type setting OR equivalent experience necessary to perform required Technician Level 1 tasks independently
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License
  • Must reside within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shifts, on call and standby, and travel overnight as required
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to see screens, detect color coding, and read fine print
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions
  • Ability to understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions
  • Ability to organize and prioritize short-term work schedules
  • Ability to complete routine forms and compose basic reports
  • Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
  • Company-sponsored international relocation will not be offered
