About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform preventative maintenance and timely repairs on pipeline system and terminal equipment
- Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot pumps, valves, mixers, seals, motors, fans, loading arms, and measurement equipment
- Ensure work complies with regulatory requirements, company O&M procedures, and DOT regulations
- Develop and execute lock-out/tag-out procedures and open-system job plans
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and components
- Respond as a first responder during emergency situations
- Participate in required safety and technical training programs, including OQ certifications
- Use maintenance management systems such as EMAIT to document work, track equipment history, and support planning
- Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, and operations teams to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance and improvement work
- Work primarily in outdoor field settings, with office functions for training, meetings, and documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience in industrial mechanical maintenance
- Excellent troubleshooting ability
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and computer skills
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Must live or relocate within 25 miles of the reporting location
- Must be available for emergency call via mobile phone or home phone 24 hours a day
- Must be periodically designated as an on-call technician for a week at a time
- Must be able to perform heavy manual work, including climbing storage tanks and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must possess and maintain an acceptable driving record
- Overnight travel of 10-40 days per year may be required
- Preferred: Completion of an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or 2-year mechanical technical/vocational degree
- Preferred: Experience maintaining crude oil pipelines, tank farms, delivery facilities, or a certified technical designation
- Preferred: Familiarity with pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, programmable logic controls, motor control centers, and instrumentation
- Preferred: 5 years of industry experience as a Mechanical Technician
- Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
