About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of a regional portfolio of wind generation facilities
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Plant Managers and site leadership teams
  • Drive operational excellence through maintenance execution, outage planning, contractor management, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Manage operating budgets, forecasting, resource allocation, and contractor/vendor performance
  • Partner with Engineering, Asset Management, Safety, Environment, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to optimize asset reliability and operational performance
  • Support integration of new wind assets through operational readiness, workforce capability, regulatory compliance, and transition to operations
  • Champion continuous improvement, asset optimization, reliability programs, and major capital initiatives
  • Conduct site visits, operational reviews, and safety observations across operating facilities and field locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Related university degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline and 8+ years of experience OR 10+ years of previous field operations experience OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience within power generation, renewable energy, utilities, or industrial operations
  • Experience leading multi-site operations and maintenance activities for wind generation assets or comparable infrastructure
  • Ability to lead through leaders, develop high-performing teams, and build accountability across geographically dispersed locations
  • Strong knowledge of safety management, regulatory compliance, contractor oversight, and field operations
  • Experience managing operating budgets, forecasting, vendor relationships, and business performance metrics
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, decision-making, and change leadership capabilities
  • Must be able to safely climb wind turbines, work at heights, and access operating facilities, subject to required training and certifications
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring adherence to company safety policies and procedures
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng., PE, or equivalent) preferred
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering background, or equivalent technical expertise, preferred
  • Experience with power markets or regulatory jurisdictions such as ERCOT, PJM, MISO, IESO, AESO, SPP, or NERC/CIP environments preferred
  • Experience supporting commissioning, operational readiness, repowering projects, major capital programs, or lifecycle asset management initiatives preferred
  • Knowledge of CMMS/work management systems, reliability programs, inventory management, SCADA systems, OEM service agreements, and joint venture operations preferred
  • Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
