About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain integrated outage plans covering scope, schedules, duration, resources, work packages, and execution constraints
- Evaluate operational impacts, system dependencies, critical risks, and execution constraints to optimize outage sequencing and resource utilization
- Coordinate outage timing, priorities, and maintenance activities with Corporate Outage Scheduling and Commercial Operations
- Manage outage preparation, stakeholder communications, planned work requests, schedule revisions, and readiness reviews
- Validate outage scope and duration and prioritize maintenance work based on equipment criticality, regulatory requirements, budget, risk, materials, and workforce capacity
- Lead weekly maintenance planning, prioritization, and advisory meetings with Operations, Site Coordinators, Area Managers, and Maintenance stakeholders
- Develop and implement planning standards, work order governance practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure maintenance activities are fully planned and execution-ready with required labor, materials, tooling, equipment, documentation, contractor support, and operational resources
- Develop, review, and maintain detailed work packages for routine, corrective, preventive, regulatory, and major maintenance
- Review scopes, procedures, and work plans to identify critical paths, system impacts, constraints, risks, long-lead materials, and resource requirements
- Liaise with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Contractors, and Program Owners to coordinate activities and resolve planning challenges
- Partner with Supply Chain and external providers to procure materials, manage contractor requests, and secure specialized resources and services
- Lead asset data governance and information management for maintenance records, work orders, asset hierarchies, drawings, technical documentation, and enterprise asset management systems such as Maximo
- Drive data quality initiatives supporting regulatory compliance, reporting accuracy, asset reliability, and business decision-making
- Support maintenance execution and long-term asset reliability through workload forecasting, resource planning, preventive maintenance optimization, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Related university degree with six or more years of relevant experience, eight or more years of operations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience supporting maintenance planning, outage coordination, work management, or pipeline and facility operations
- Experience supporting or leading improvement initiatives in an operational environment
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate information
- Clear communication and collaborative relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Valid driver’s licence
- Experience with SAP or Maximo considered an asset
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, diagrammatics, technical manuals, and related documentation considered an asset
- Ability to meet physical requirements including light-moderate lifting of objects up to 50 pounds, climbing, walking on uneven terrain, and entering/exiting excavations
- Ability to work extended hours or be available on short notice when operationally required
- Regional travel required, including occasional travel of approximately 50 to 300 miles between work locations
- Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
