About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide civil and structural engineering support for compressor station facilities across expansion and maintenance capital projects
  • Guide third-party engineering firms
  • Ensure project designs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Enbridge engineering specifications
  • Provide interpretations and ensure compliance with Enbridge standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide engineering expertise and solutions for design challenges
  • Manage execution of design deliverables by third-party engineering firms against project budget and schedule
  • Review and approve drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets
  • Review vendor material quotations
  • Prepare technical evaluations and recommend selections based on technical merit, price, and delivery
  • Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporate recommendations into future designs
  • Support department initiatives as required
  • Work with multiple project teams in an office-based environment
  • Scope projects in the field and support construction and commissioning activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry codes/standards for the oil and gas industry in the US
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to solve problems using standards, modified standards, and/or previous experience
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and impacts to technical and non-technical staff
  • PE Designation preferred
  • Strong computer skills, typically using Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work with time-sensitive deliverables
  • Ability to perform physical requirements including grasping, kneeling, light to moderate lifting up to 45 pounds, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual tasks, and hearing
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions
  • Ability to understand sophisticated problems and collaborate on alternative solutions
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a short-term work schedule
  • Ability to make decisions with moderate impact and monitor impacts
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
  • Ability to complete routine forms and compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports
