About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary Mechanical Engineering contact for Projects
  • Ensure alignment with mechanical equipment engineering standards, asset strategies, and long-term reliability objectives
  • Review and audit project designs for compliance and completeness
  • Lead or support in-house projects
  • Produce authenticated design documentation, drawings, and calculations
  • Meet technical, schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives
  • Apply mechanical engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle
  • Partner with internal teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to identify design improvements
  • Enhance cost competitiveness and design efficiency
  • Coach, mentor, and provide technical guidance to developing engineers and junior team members
  • Support Liquids Pipelines projects across Canada and the United States
  • Travel approximately 10% to 15% as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 6+ years of related oil and gas industry experience
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, per applicable jurisdiction; for U.S. roles, preference for a PE
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas pipeline and facility construction
  • Knowledge of applicable Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards
  • Ability to provide technical guidance, coaching, and leadership across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada and the United States
  • Ability to work in office and travel to field worksites, including use of personal protective equipment
  • Ability to meet specified physical and mental requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located without employment-based sponsorship
