About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical guidance to field teams and identify opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and day-to-day operations
  • Apply CFR 192, company requirements, and relevant industry standards to engineering decisions, material selection, testing, and safe operations
  • Review projects, procedures, pipeline crossings, encroachments, and gas-handling plans to manage operational risk and protect pipeline integrity
  • Investigate equipment failures, operational concerns, and reliability issues
  • Develop practical and sustainable engineering solutions
  • Support project scope development, budget planning, audits, technical documentation, and internal or external information requests
  • Share engineering expertise across regional teams
  • Provide timely technical support during emergency-response situations
  • Collaborate with field and regional teams across office and field environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of engineering experience within the pipeline or oil and gas industry
  • Understanding of CFR 192
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, engineering practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with natural gas design and operations
  • Background in pipeline integrity, reliability, or operational engineering
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide oversight across concurrent projects, technical activities, and operational requests
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, technology, and team leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively across field and office environments
  • Legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located without requiring employment-based sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to travel and work throughout the United States
  • Successful completion of background screenings, including a 5-year driving record, criminal check, and company-sponsored medical
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting objects up to 20 pounds, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, typing, and prolonged sitting
  • Ability to understand and apply oral and written instructions, collaborate on complex problems, organize and prioritize work, make decisions, complete routine forms, compose basic reports, and communicate by telephone
