About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research and analyze complex technical accounting matters and determine appropriate accounting treatments
- Prepare and document technical accounting positions through accounting position papers and supporting materials
- Monitor GAAP, SEC standards and regulatory developments and communicate their implications
- Develop, review and maintain complex accounting disclosures for SEC filings and periodic reports
- Partner with external auditors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical accounting and disclosure issues
- Lead adoption and implementation of new accounting pronouncements across impacted functions and business units
- Provide technical accounting training, communication and guidance to Finance and business stakeholders
- Support mergers, acquisitions and divestitures through accounting and valuation due diligence
- Mentor and guide technical accounting team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four-year university degree in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent
- 8 or more years of directly related accounting experience
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or CA)
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
- Strong organizational, analytical, writing and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter, well organized and able to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- At least 6 years of Public Accounting or US GAAP financial reporting or technical accounting research experience preferred
- Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
