About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in Ovintiv’s comprehensive summer internship program
Work closely with an experienced mentor
Support field safety programs, education, and awareness initiatives
Participate in field inspections, audits, and hazard identification activities
Assist with risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions
Support industrial hygiene and occupational health activities
Analyze process safety data to identify trends and leading indicators
Assist with safety management system improvements, regulatory compliance initiatives, and implementation of new safety technologies
Deliver meaningful contributions to field operations across the upstream oil and gas industry

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must reside or be willing to reside in Grande Prairie, AB, or Dawson Creek, BC
Travel in Western Canada is required
Must be pursuing a diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, safety management, environmental health and safety (EHS), occupational health, or a closely related health and safety discipline
Must be enrolled as a full-time student through December 2027
Available May 3, 2027 – August 19, 2027
Safety-sensitive position subject to Ovintiv’s Alcohol and Drug policy, including pre-assignment testing
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
