About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct first-level reviews of direct customer orders flagged by Company algorithms and recommend release decisions according to SOPs
- Coordinate with Commercial business representatives to gather forecasts and other information for flagged-order decisions
- Review customer forecasts for focus products
- Contact direct customers for due diligence information
- Create and maintain documentation required for DEA suspicious-order reporting under record-retention policy
- Review the Direct Order Dashboard and Company data to detect customer-account patterns
- Track metrics for Suspicious Order Monitoring Team reporting
- Review direct-customer Know Your Customer questionnaires for completeness and thoroughness
- Schedule and participate in customer reviews with CS Compliance staff
- Maintain KYC documents for direct customers according to SOPs
- Evaluate SOP effectiveness, identify process enhancements, and implement change-control documentation
- Assist with media and internet-source reviews to identify downstream customers for investigation
- Facilitate Suspicious Order Monitoring Team meetings and prepare meeting minutes
- Prepare and send DEA notices regarding pharmacy restrictions
- Update pharmacy review files based on due diligence from distributors and third-party consultants
- Update Excel trackers with pertinent information
- Maintain and update the list of distributor terminations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience, including statistical analysis preferred
- Prior experience in Controlled Substances Compliance in the private sector or as a government investigator/regulator preferred
- Working knowledge of DEA regulations preferred
- Experience in data analytics including Excel pivot tables, charts, and graphs
- Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Experience auditing internal processes to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies and procedures
- Ability to work with various departments internally and contacts outside of the organization
- Must take initiative and act without direction when appropriate
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting systems
- Previous experience with DEA recordkeeping
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a traditional office environment with frequent visits to production areas, loading docks, and laboratories
- Ability to handle pharmaceutical product (packaged/bulk)
- Finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard
- Ability to hear normal conversation
- Ability to read computer screens and documents
- Must wear safety glasses and other protective items as required
- Ability to sit 75% of the day and stand or walk 25%
- Must be willing to travel to other Company locations or customer/vendor sites
