About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Partner with product and executive leadership to inform and implement company strategy
Translate ambiguous requirements from Product, UX, and internal stakeholders into concrete, actionable plans
Deliver code and features as a hands-on contributor
Drive technical strategy and architecture across all engineering domains
Champion operational excellence, reliability, quality, and continuous risk reduction
Document and oversee engineering standards
Own the product's security and compliance posture, including SOC 2, data integrity, and potential GxP/21 CFR Part 11 considerations
Accelerate application development and uplift engineering staff through mentorship and selecting relevant training, conferences, and events
Interview, hire, and help grow the engineering team
Represent engineering with customers and internal and external stakeholders
Leverage current AI technologies to inform technical direction and product roadmap
Educate internal stakeholders about emerging technologies and how they can be used in the product

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven track record of architecting, scaling, and maintaining complex, scaled systems
Experience with systems serving large numbers of users where quality, security, and reliability are critical
Polyglot mastery and ability to learn new languages and architectures
Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and NodeJS
Rust ideally, or Go/C++
Amazon Web Services and Azure ideally, or equivalent
CI/CD with GitHub Actions, or equivalent
Infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Terraform or Pulumi, or equivalent
12+ years of engineering experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or another relevant field is preferred
