About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support for U.S. Special Operations Command
- Identify problems and work closely within a small technical team
- Support on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure with minimal supervision
- Troubleshoot desktop stability and connection issues
- Work with vendors to diagnose problems and replace parts
- Reimage and install computers for end users
- Administer Linux systems, including users, groups, interfaces, firewalls, permissions, storage, updates, certificates, keys, and web hosting
- Administer Windows Server 2019/2022 environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, GPOs, and permissions
- Manage Azure users, resources, and file shares
- Manage VMware/vSphere/vCenter/ESXi, Proxmox virtual machines, storage allocation, backups, and snapshots
- Administer NetApp storage, shares, constituents, and volumes
- Manage Synology storage, backups, and RAID
- Work with copper cabling, Cisco CLI/firewalls, routing, and switching
- Monitor systems for threats and gather information on security events
- Respond to malware on networks and handle data spillage
- Apply and remediate standard DoD STIG packages and functional or performance issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires relocation to or residence in the Tampa, FL area
- Ability to obtain DoD TS/SCI security clearance
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Technical breadth and a deep interest in learning new technical skills
- Experience or strong familiarity with desktop support, including troubleshooting stability and connection issues, vendor coordination, and reimaging/installing computers
- Experience or strong familiarity with Linux system administration, including users and groups, network interfaces, firewalls, permissions, storage, updates, SSL/TLS certificates and keys, web applications/hosting, and Bash
- Experience or strong familiarity with Windows Server 2019/2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, firewall, GPOs, permissions, and PowerShell
- Basic MS Azure knowledge (AZ-900), Azure user management, resource management, and Azure file share management
- Experience or strong familiarity with VMware/vSphere/vCenter/ESXi, Proxmox, virtual machine management, storage allocation, backups, and snapshots
- Basic SAN knowledge; NetApp shares, constituents, and volumes
- Synology storage/backups and RAID technology
- Copper cabling, Cisco CLI/firewall, routing, and switching
- Security monitoring, security-event information gathering, basic Blue Team concepts, malware response, and data-spillage handling
- Preferred: Azure or AWS certifications, or 2+ years of Azure cloud management experience
- Preferred: CompTIA Security+
- Preferred: CCNA, CCNP, CCNP Security, or Network+
- Preferred: 2+ years of systems administration experience
- Preferred: Experience with standard DoD STIG packages and remediation of functional or performance issues
