About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support implementation of an energy efficiency financing initiative for a major Pennsylvania investor-owned utility company
- Conduct outreach and education for contractors, trade allies, implementation partners, and customers
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, trade allies, customer-facing program staff, trade groups, and other stakeholders
- Increase awareness and use of financing options for eligible energy efficiency projects
- Ensure financing is integrated into customer engagement, project scoping, proposal development, and decision-making
- Connect customers, contractors, and trade allies with appropriate financing providers based on project type, customer needs, and lender fit
- Coordinate with implementation partners, delivery teams, internal program staff, and lender-facing staff
- Track outreach activity, contractor engagement, customer interactions, referrals, matches, outcomes, and market insights in CRM and other systems
- Gather feedback on financing barriers, customer objections, contractor needs, and program gaps
- Help develop and deliver presentations, talking points, referral guides, job aids, and training materials
- Prepare regular reports and updates on outreach, engagement, customer interest, referrals, matches, and market insights
- Recommend strategies to improve participation, awareness, referral quality, financing utilization, and program effectiveness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, environmental studies, finance, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial finance in an outreach, account management, loan officer, marketing, customer engagement, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience
- Ability to build and maintain productive external relationships with contractors, customers, partners, or other stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to explain financing concepts and program offerings clearly to non-financial audiences
- Ability to understand customer needs, contractor perspectives, and market barriers and translate them into practical engagement strategies
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple relationships, track referrals and activities, and follow through consistently
- Ability to work effectively across internal teams and with external partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems, spreadsheets, and outreach or project tracking tools
- Commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and equitable clean energy outcomes
- Must have a valid US driver's license
- Must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship; EIP does not offer visa sponsorship
- Preferred: experience supporting utility-sponsored energy efficiency or demand-side management programs
- Preferred: experience working with contractors, implementers, distributors, trade allies, or related market actors
- Preferred: customer recruitment, account management, or program participation experience
- Preferred: familiarity with commercial lending, equipment finance, energy project finance, or customer financing
- Preferred: experience with multi-party delivery models involving utilities, prime contractors, subcontractors, and field partners
- Preferred: experience developing or delivering training, presentations, guides, or outreach materials
- Preferred: experience tracking referrals and working within structured programs with reporting requirements
