About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary technical and operational assistant to the Facilities Manager at a single customer site, acting in their place during absences
- Serve as the master technician leading troubleshooting and correction of complex maintenance issues beyond operators’ capabilities
- Oversee implementation of preventive/planned maintenance programs and inspect documentation, execution, and work quality
- Oversee site personnel compliance with ESG and customer policies and procedures
- Provide daily work direction during the Facilities Manager’s absence
- Establish and lead actions to improve performance and meet site performance objectives and customer contract KPIs
- Oversee site training programs and maintain employee training records
- Provide technical evaluations and detailed economic analyses for expense projects and future maintenance-cost forecasting
- Manage above-baseline projects, major repairs, and equipment replacements
- Coordinate with multiple subcontractors
- Track and invoice project hours
- Assist with project development, construction, and closeout
- Ensure project deadlines are met
- Communicate project updates with the customer and ESG
- Manage periodic operational reporting to the customer and ESG management
- Manage periodic data readings and trend reporting
- Lead periodic customer and team meetings in the Facilities Manager’s absence
- Establish performance and behavioral expectations and track employee performance for accurate, constructive appraisals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree in a pertinent technical field or comparable industry training and license
- Five (5) years’ related experience in the operations, maintenance, and emergency repair of power generation, central steam and chiller plants, and auxiliary equipment
- Prior managerial and/or supervisory experience
- Technical understanding of and practical experience with energy distribution, production, and components associated with motors, control centers, boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, generators, and related equipment
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
- Bachelor’s degree and ten years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (bonus)
- OSHA 30 training (bonus)
