About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on plant equipment and systems
- Work with steam, condensate, chilled water, electrical motors, switchgear, motor control centers, condenser systems, variable frequency drives, engines, generators, compressed air systems, pumps, chillers, air handlers, boilers, cooling towers, and control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures
- Operate Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) equipment
- Conduct start-up activities and troubleshooting
- Interact positively with customers as needed
- Track long-term performance evaluations and baseline requirement adherence
- Follow safety programs, including lockout/tagout and SDS administration
- Follow maintenance procedures
- Establish and maintain maintenance and work order procedures, communicate problems, and recommend courses of action
- Participate in 12-hour rotating shifts, including overnight, weekend, holiday, and call-in work
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Three to six (3-6) years of related experience
- 4th Class Power Engineer NIULPE License Certification or higher, achieved before or within 18 months of employment
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Basic computer skills, including data input, work order coordination, and daily logs
- Must be within a reasonable commute from 3001 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL 60064
