About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform general cost accounting and other accounting department duties, including data entry and journal entries
- Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
- Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address bank inquiries
- Reconcile customer accounts
- Verify accounts payable invoices and ensure payments are charged to appropriate accounts
- Assist outside auditors by gathering account information and documents for annual audits
- Perform filing, scanning, and record keeping
- Administer credit applications, contracts, performance and payment bonds, certificates of insurance, and licenses
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 0–5 years of experience
- Knowledge of general financial accounting
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with others and follow supervisory instructions in a corporate environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Ability to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with the industry and the company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Ability to travel 0–5% of the time to job sites or office locations
- Ability to climb stairs, remain stationary for prolonged periods, and perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
