About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Project Manager with managing the project life cycle on assigned projects
  • Assist with obtaining project pricing, budgeting, estimating, detailing, subcontractor/vendor management, and project schedules
  • Coordinate safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
  • Assist project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle
  • Help plan and manage HVAC and plumbing installation to meet code and project requirements, on time and under budget
  • Participate in operational, corporate, and departmental meetings
  • Assist with vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Participate in monthly reports and cost reviews, capturing deviations from plan or schedule
  • Work with the project team to deliver projects on time and under budget
  • Assist with change-order estimating, project documentation, project closeout, and commissioning requirements
  • Participate in all facets of the project life cycle while developing skills for career progression in the mechanical industry

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 0-2 years applicable field work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to read construction plans and specifications
  • Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods
  • Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
  • Ability to process submittals
  • Experience in heavy commercial construction preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred
  • Travel 0-5% of the time to job sites/office locations
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
