About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Project Manager with managing the project life cycle on assigned projects
  • Assist with project pricing, budgeting, estimating, detailing, subcontractor/vendor management, and project scheduling
  • Coordinate safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
  • Assist project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle
  • Help plan and manage HVAC and plumbing installation to meet code and project requirements, on time and under budget
  • Participate in operational, corporate, and departmental meetings
  • Prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Participate in monthly reports and cost reviews, capturing deviations from plan or schedule
  • Assist with estimating change orders, project documentation, and project close-out, including commissioning requirements
  • Participate in all facets of the project life cycle while developing mechanical-industry skills

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering
  • 0–2 years' experience in the industry
  • Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • Experience in processing submittals (preferred)
  • Experience in heavy commercial construction (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination (preferred)
  • Ability to travel 40–60% of the time to job sites/office locations
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
  • Ability to remain standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to move about between worksites
  • Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
