About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Project Manager with managing the project life cycle on assigned projects
- Assist with project pricing, budgeting, estimating, detailing, subcontractor/vendor management, and project scheduling
- Coordinate safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
- Assist project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle
- Help plan and manage HVAC and plumbing installation to meet code and project requirements, on time and under budget
- Participate in operational, corporate, and departmental meetings
- Assist with vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings
- Participate in monthly reports and cost reviews, identifying deviations from plan or schedule
- Assist with estimating change orders, project documentation, and project close-out, including commissioning requirements
- Participate in all facets of the project life cycle while developing skills for career progression in the mechanical industry
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering
- 0–2 years' experience in the industry
- Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of the industry and the Company's competitors
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
- Experience processing submittals preferred
- Experience in heavy commercial construction preferred
- Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel 40–60% of the time to job sites and office locations
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to remain standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Ability to move between worksites
- Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
