About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Project Manager with managing the project life cycle on assigned projects
- Assist with project pricing, budgeting, estimating, detailing, subcontractor/vendor management, and project schedules
- Coordinate safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
- Assist project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle
- Help plan and manage HVAC and plumbing installation to meet code, project requirements, schedule, and budget
- Participate in operational, corporate, and departmental meetings
- Prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings
- Participate in monthly reports and cost reviews, documenting deviations from plan or schedule
- Collaborate with the project team to deliver projects on time and under budget
- Assist with change-order estimating, project documentation, closeout, and commissioning requirements
- Participate in all facets of the project life cycle while developing mechanical-industry skills
Requirements
What you’ll need- 0-2 years applicable field work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to read construction plans and specifications
- Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
- Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Well-versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Ability to process submittals
- Experience in heavy commercial construction preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred
- Travel to job sites/office locations 0-5% of the time
- Able to climb stairs
- Able to remain standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Able to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
- Able to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
