About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Project Manager with managing the project life cycle on assigned projects
  • Assist with obtaining project pricing, budgeting, estimating, detailing, subcontractor/vendor management, and project scheduling
  • Coordinate safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
  • Assist project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle
  • Help plan and manage HVAC and plumbing installation to meet code, project requirements, schedule, and budget
  • Participate in operational, corporate, and departmental meetings
  • Assist with vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Participate in monthly reports and cost reviews, identifying deviations from plan or schedule
  • Assist with change-order estimating, project documentation, and project close-out, including commissioning requirements
  • Participate in all facets of the project life cycle and develop skills for career progression in the mechanical industry

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering or related field experience preferred; practical industry experience may substitute for formal education requirements
  • 0-2 years' experience in the industry
  • Basic knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Excellent multitasking skills and ability to perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
  • Preferred: experience processing submittals
  • Preferred: experience in heavy commercial construction
  • Preferred: hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination
  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time to job sites/office locations
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
  • Ability to remain standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to move between worksites
  • Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
