About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a team of commissioning agents and technicians across multiple concurrent commissioning projects
- Provide leadership and oversight to ensure commissioning scopes are executed efficiently and accurately
- Coordinate with clients, external resources, internal team members, owners, contractors, engineers, and architects
- Document and distribute project information to commissioning agents and technicians
- Track project talent resources, metrics, schedule, and budget
- Establish project status tracking and reporting processes for clients and stakeholders
- Ensure team communications are properly documented
- Develop and negotiate commissioning fee proposals and labor-hour estimates
- Manage resource utilization to meet project financial targets
- Train and mentor commissioning agents and technicians
- Support development and maintenance of commissioning standards and processes
- Manage client and owner expectations
- Assist with business development, project interviews, and pursuing opportunities with current clients
- Develop and write owner’s project requirements
- Lead commissioning design reviews
- Review commissioning specifications, plans, and functional tests
- Participate in functional testing, commissioning meetings, and owner training
- Schedule and coordinate commissioning activities with multiple parties
- Supervise Commissioning Agents and Technicians
- Uphold the company’s owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of commissioning or related experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, automatic temperature control systems, or building operation management
- Commissioning Certification (e.g. NEBB, ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE, etc.)
- Professional interaction with owners, contractors, and design teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and online commissioning software such as CxAlloy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to manage various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of the industry and company competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Willingness and ability to work at the designated job site/office location
- Registered Engineering Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and operate machinery/power tools
- Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
