Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead on-site mechanical field operations across an assigned data center project, building, or campus
  • Translate the Director, Data Center's execution strategy into safe, coordinated, and predictable field performance
  • Lead General Superintendents and Superintendents and align manpower, planning, materials, equipment, logistics, quality, and installation sequencing
  • Reinforce a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with ENFRA policies, customer requirements, OSHA standards, and site-specific plans
  • Own installation sequencing, phase planning, short-interval planning, constraint removal, and two-week look-ahead schedules
  • Develop and maintain manpower plans, including staffing forecasts, onboarding, badging, background checks, drug screening, and site access
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, tools, prefabrication, vendors, and field supervision
  • Oversee site logistics, deliveries, unloading, storage, material handling, hoisting, equipment access, inspections, and trade coordination
  • Establish field-management processes, communication routines, reporting expectations, and accountability
  • Ensure installations comply with contract documents, submittals, drawings, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and quality standards
  • Monitor productivity, labor performance, schedule progress, rework, constraints, and execution risks; drive corrective or recovery plans
  • Identify scope changes, customer impacts, trade interference, delays, and potential change events; document field conditions
  • Coordinate and hold subcontractors accountable for safety, schedule, quality, manpower, logistics, and contractual requirements
  • Maintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, Owners, design partners, vendors, subcontractors, and other trades
  • Participate in project reviews and operating meetings, reporting on safety, manpower, schedule, materials, productivity, quality, risks, and decisions
  • Coordinate readiness for testing, start-up, pre-commissioning, commissioning, punch-list completion, turnover, and closeout
  • Mentor and develop field leaders and identify succession, capability, and training needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of progressive mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or related commercial construction field experience, including significant responsibility for large, complex projects
  • 3+ years of verifiable data center or mission-critical construction experience involving complex mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Experience leading General Superintendents, Superintendents, subcontractors, and large craft workforces across multiple work areas, buildings, phases, or shifts
  • Ability to develop and execute manpower plans, short-interval plans, material and equipment delivery plans, site logistics plans, and installation sequencing strategies
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing construction, including HVAC, hydronic and process piping, plumbing systems, equipment setting, testing, start-up, and commissioning readiness
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents, specifications, approved submittals, coordinated drawings, schedules, and installation plans and resolve field conflicts
  • Understanding of construction safety requirements, quality-control practices, labor productivity, schedule management, field documentation, and change-event identification
  • Ability to identify constraints and execution risks, establish accountability, make timely decisions, and drive corrective action
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, scheduling tools, digital drawings, and field-reporting systems
  • Ability to work full time on the assigned project site and adapt to extended workweeks, multiple shifts, weekends, or changing schedules
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred
  • Prior hands-on experience in plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC, sheet metal, welding, or related mechanical trades preferred
  • Prior experience as a General Superintendent, Operations Manager, Construction Manager, or comparable field-operations leader on large data center or mission-critical projects preferred
  • Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Current mechanical, plumbing, or HVAC contractor or trade license preferred
