About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sign and seal engineering documents, as applicable
  • Design solar energy, battery energy storage, fuel cell, and combined heat and power plants with guidance from senior engineers
  • Analyze and design electrical systems, including power distribution, low/medium voltage systems, lighting, and controls
  • Perform utility interconnect, arc flash, short-circuit, and breaker coordination calculations
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications under established standards
  • Conduct site visits, field assessments, and data collection
  • Coordinate and plan 3D laser scanning efforts as needed
  • Assist with project coordination across multidisciplinary teams
  • Apply engineering techniques within defined assignments
  • Work under general supervision and handle moderately complex issues
  • Escalate complex challenges to senior staff
  • Develop client interaction skills in supported settings
  • Support permitting and procurement efforts and respond to field conditions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Working knowledge of electrical system design and analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
  • Proficiency with electrical design and modeling software
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Ability to travel 10–25% of the time to job sites
  • Ability to perform office and field work, including stairs, ladders, ramps, scaffolding, loud environments, temperature extremes, elevated locations, and moving objects up to 20 pounds
