About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sign and seal engineering documents, as applicable
- Design solar energy, battery energy storage, fuel cell, and combined heat and power plants with guidance from senior engineers
- Analyze and design electrical systems, including power distribution, low/medium voltage systems, lighting, and controls
- Perform basic utility interconnect, arc flash, short-circuit, and breaker coordination calculations
- Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications under established standards
- Conduct site visits, field assessments, and data collection
- Coordinate and plan 3D laser scanning efforts as needed
- Assist with multidisciplinary project coordination
- Apply engineering techniques within defined assignments
- Work under general supervision
- Handle moderately complex issues and escalate complex challenges to senior staff
- Conduct field surveys, travel to job sites, document existing conditions, and observe construction progress
- Develop code-compliant, constructible designs supporting performance, reliability, and energy-efficiency objectives for hospital and college campus infrastructure projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Working knowledge of electrical system design and analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
- Proficiency with electrical design and modeling software
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple assignments
- Experience in energy infrastructure or ESCO
- Ability to perform prolonged office work at a desk and computer
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and possibly scaffolding
- Ability to conduct field surveys in loud environments, extreme temperatures, and/or elevated locations
- Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to travel to job sites
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
