About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the creation of technical design solutions and/or studies
  • Provide technical authority and direction as Engineer of Record (EOR)
  • Develop electrical engineering designs, studies and solutions as part of an integrated project team
  • Analyze, develop and evaluate systems
  • Improve and maintain current systems or create new projects
  • Design and draft blueprints
  • Visit systems in the field
  • Manage projects
  • Apply engineering techniques and analyses within the assignment scope
  • Perform work under minimal supervision
  • Handle complex issues and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
  • May act as a lead or first-level supervisor
  • Travel to job sites or office locations 5-10% of the time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 4-6 years of experience
  • Strong proficiency in REVIT
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
  • Preferred experience with the design of Healthcare projects
  • Preferred experience with the design of Higher Education projects
  • Preferred experience with the design of Central Energy Plant (CEP) electrical infrastructure projects
  • Preferred experience in the design of medium voltage protection and power distribution systems
  • Preferred experience in the design of paralleled generator systems at medium voltage and below
