About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sign and seal engineering documents and ensure quality standards
  • Lead and review designs for solar energy, battery energy storage, fuel cell, and combined heat and power plants
  • Perform and review utility interconnect, arc flash, short-circuit, and breaker coordination calculations
  • Manage electrical scope, including schedule, budget, and deliverables
  • Supervise planning for field investigations and site visits
  • Review plans for 3D laser scanning efforts
  • Resolve highly complex technical and coordination challenges
  • Provide technical oversight and review of junior staff work
  • Work independently with broad authority
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers
  • Coordinate with clients, utilities, and external stakeholders
  • Support existing client relationships through technical input, proposals, and client engagement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical power and building systems
  • Experience with system coordination, protection, and controls integration
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary designs
  • Travel 10–20% of the time
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to remain stationary, often kneeling, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
