About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate, program, optimize, and test new and existing building systems on-site or remotely
- Plan, document, and conduct commissioning and retro-commissioning work independently
- Produce optimized energy and project outcomes for retro-commissioning and new construction commissioning scopes
- Document activities, technical issues, and solution development for the project delivery team and Team Manager
- Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time
- Participate in site surveys, documentation reviews, and due diligence activities
- Develop energy conservation measures
- Participate in new construction design and submittal reviews
- Use CxAlloy to document commissioning scopes
- Develop and quality-control pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests in CxAlloy
- Develop technical reports and project observations
- Implement energy conservation measures independently or with facilities staff and trade partners
- Review pre-functional checklists against actual site conditions
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and modify building system programming
- Troubleshoot building system integration and networking and recommend solutions
- Use test instrumentation to troubleshoot, verify, and optimize building system operation
- Oversee and execute functional performance tests for construction acceptance
- Supervise trade partners and subcontractors on-site when required
- Ensure energy conservation measures and programming are documented and archived
- Monitor energy performance and help ensure project targets are met
- Track and assist with resolving project issues
- Escalate impediments to the Team Manager and Director
- Support training and mentorship of Technical Services staff
- Collaborate with construction management, facilities management, engineers, and trade partners
- Perform other assigned duties in accordance with ENFRA policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and SOPs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s Degree or equivalent in HVAC, Energy Management, Building Automation, or related technical field
- 10+ years of commissioning or related field experience with mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, programming, or building operation management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to safety
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work with minimal or limited information
- Self-directed or able to work with limited direction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Competency with cloud-based commissioning software platforms
- Ability to travel 40–60% of the time to job sites/office locations
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and varied outdoor/noisy environments
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
