About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform assigned duties in accordance with ENFRA policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Document, collaborate, and communicate activities, technical issues, and solution development to the project delivery team and Team Manager
- Execute assigned tasks and deliverables in a timely manner
- Participate in site surveys, documentation reviews, and due diligence to determine facility conditions and develop energy conservation measures
- Participate in design and submittal reviews for new construction commissioning
- Use CxAlloy to document assigned commissioning scopes
- Develop and quality-control pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests in CxAlloy
- Develop technical reports and project observations
- Implement energy conservation measures independently or with facilities staff and trade partners
- Review pre-functional checklists against actual site conditions
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and modify building-system programming
- Troubleshoot building-system integration and networking and recommend solutions
- Use test instrumentation to troubleshoot, verify, and optimize building-system operation
- Oversee and execute functional performance tests for construction-scope acceptance
- Provide on-site supervision of trade partners and subcontractors
- Document, explain, and archive energy conservation measures and building-system programming
- Monitor energy performance and collaborate with the project team to meet and maintain performance targets
- Identify, communicate, track, assign, and address project issues
- Assist with issue resolution and propose project solutions
- Escalate impediments to project outcomes and scope completion
- Support training and mentorship of Technical Services staff
- Uphold IS Delivery and Technical Services processes, SOPs, and ENFRA core values
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree or equivalent in HVAC, Energy Management, Building Automation, or related technical field
- 10+ years of commissioning or related field experience with mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, programming, or building operation management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to safety
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work with minimal or limited information
- Self-directed or able to work with limited direction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Competency with cloud-based commissioning software platforms
- Ability to travel 40–60% of the time to job sites/office locations
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles; working in tight/confined spaces; and moving objects up to 20 pounds
- Preferred: Commissioning Certification from ACG, BCxA, or ASHRAE
- Preferred: Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification
- Preferred: Building automation systems design and programming experience
- Preferred: Certifications in building automation platforms such as Siemens Insight or Desigo, JCI Metasys Extended Architecture, Schneider EcoStruxure BSO, Trane, Niagara, or Distech
