About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical assistance to pre-engineering teams during data collection surveys
  • Lead site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and scope requirements
  • Develop energy conservation strategies for retro-commissioning projects
  • Assist design teams with integrating energy conservation strategies into unified energy management approaches
  • Review requests for proposals for equipment and services procurement
  • Collaborate with project engineers according to engineering best practices, company standards, and applicable codes
  • Review critical equipment and system submittals for contract and project outcome compliance
  • Conduct commissioning and occasional peer reviews of design documents
  • Advise project teams with the engineer of record on technical and resource requirements
  • Visit construction sites to review progress and installation quality and identify deficiencies
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system installation and setup problems
  • Provide technical support to implementation teams
  • Assist in optimizing complex equipment and system upgrades
  • Identify project execution gaps and create standards and processes to address them
  • Support or develop tools for project execution
  • Solve system integration and system operation problems
  • Promote ENFRA's brand through excellent execution and positive client experiences
  • Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision in a team problem-solving environment
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Technical Services employees
  • Complete technical reports and related documents
  • Develop training materials for Technical Services teams
  • Provide post-implementation on-site operations and maintenance training
  • Inform significant business decisions while executing other project assignments
  • Balance project constraints with required outcomes for the Technical Services organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned by company leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6-10 years of experience in engineering design, energy management, or retro-commissioning
  • Professional Mechanical Engineering (PE) license
  • Expert technical knowledge of the subject matter
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer/Client orientation
  • Leadership skills with the ability to develop and mentor others
  • Ability to problem solve and analyze complex systems
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects with competing deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • Central Energy Plant (CEP), Healthcare, or Higher Education project experience preferred
  • Chilled Water, Heating Water, Steam, and Tower Water system project experience preferred
  • Hydronic system distribution project experience preferred
  • Building automation, controls, and systems integration project experience preferred
  • Test and Balance project experience preferred
  • Energy Management project experience preferred
  • AutoCAD and REVIT preferred
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time to job sites/office locations
  • Ability to perform physical activities including climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles; prolonged standing or sitting; moving between worksites; and repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions
  • Ability to work in outdoor, noisy, and quiet environments
  • Ability to perform medium work, including adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds
