About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start up less complex equipment
- Assist higher-level technicians with complex equipment and systems
- Gather product information, including model numbers, serial numbers, belt sizes, and filter sizes
- Assist senior technicians with troubleshooting and repairs
- Assist with system flushing and TAB
- Set PRVs
- Maintain belts and grease bearings and motors before turnover
- Verify that equipment on the job matches submittal documents for voltage, amps, horsepower, and other specifications
- Support the pre-commissioning department in equipment and systems startup and repair
- Develop holistic system knowledge through equipment-focused work
- Work overtime on occasion
Requirements
What you’ll need- 20 hours of continued education
- 5+ years' experience
- EPA 608 Certification
- OSHA 30 certification
- NFPA 70 certification
- Exposure to more complex system concepts and troubleshooting methodologies
- Ability to develop safety habits, copper tube brazing, time management, troubleshooting, system knowledge, hydronic systems, VRF systems, and chiller operation skills through mentorship, continuing education, and hands-on activity
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
- Ability to travel 10–20% to various job locations
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles
- Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools
- Ability to work in outdoor elements, noisy environments, and tight or confined spaces
- Ability to adjust and/or move objects from 20–100 pounds
