About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start up less complex equipment
- Assist higher-level technicians with complex equipment and systems
- Gather product information, including model numbers, serial numbers, belt sizes, and filter sizes
- Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairing problems
- Assist with system flushing and testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB)
- Set pressure-reducing valves (PRVs)
- Maintain belts and grease bearings and motors before turnover
- Verify that jobsite equipment matches submittal documents for voltage, amps, horsepower, and related specifications
- Support the pre-commissioning department in equipment and system startup and repair
- Work overtime on occasion
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years' experience
- EPA 608 Certification
- OSHA 30 certification
- NFPA 70 certification
- 20 hours of continued education
- Exposure to more complex system concepts and troubleshooting methodologies
- Ability to develop safety habits, copper tube brazing, time management, troubleshooting system knowledge, hydronic systems, VRF systems, and chiller operation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
- Ability to travel 10–20% to various job locations, sometimes multiple jobs a day
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles
- Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools
- Ability to work outdoors in precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind
- Ability to work in noisy environments
- Ability to perform light to heavy work, adjusting and/or moving objects from 20–100 pounds
