About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage field labor, materials, profit, loss, project performance, and safety
  • Meet or exceed financial expectations, budgets, and goals; monitor pricing and review cost data
  • Monitor and maintain the business unit's cash position and resolve cost disputes
  • Build and sustain customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Manage dispatch procedures and communications with field staff
  • Develop service teams and define roles and responsibilities
  • Coordinate hiring, terminations, performance reviews, salary recommendations, personnel issues, and talent development
  • Improve technician labor productivity and ensure work quality meets company standards and project requirements
  • Estimate service repair and replacement projects
  • Promote and oversee Safety and Risk Management, including contracts, change orders, insurance certificates, and bonds
  • Assist with quality control on service jobs
  • Maintain employee morale and retention
  • Maintain inventory and procure tools for service vehicles
  • Maintain continuing education programs for service personnel
  • Conduct orientation for new hires
  • Conduct project kick-off meetings for small jobs
  • Coordinate subcontractors and vendors
  • Assist with development of estimation and handheld technology tools
  • Participate in staff meetings addressing management, training, safety, and productivity improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years' experience in the service business
  • Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to lead a team of technicians
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must travel 20% of the time to job site/office locations
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
