About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Lead a crew on projects involving a crane
- Install or replace boilers, rooftop units, unit heaters, WSHPs, exhaust fans, AHUs, and related equipment
- Start up and commission DX equipment, chilled water AHUs, VFDs, FCUs, packaged units including VRF and DOAS units, cooling towers and pumps, boilers, and hot water heaters
- Interpret final product elevation drawings and apply installation techniques
- Use mechanical drawings to create shop drawings showing plan and elevation views
- Use equipment submittals
- Identify and sketch components of HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Promote and perform company safety procedures and policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in pipefitting
- Experience in minor ductwork making transitions to HVAC equipment
- Startup and commissioning experience
- Crane signaling and rigging experience
- Working knowledge of VRF systems
- Working knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, and pumps
- Working knowledge of DDC system operations
- Working knowledge of VFDs and their functions
- Ability and willingness to follow job-site instructions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Current Licensed Technician or verifiable experience in service of commercial HVAC systems
- EPA Certification preferred
- Ability to travel 0–5% of the time to job sites or office locations
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles
- Ability to climb stairs and work in tight and confined spaces
- Ability to remain stationary, often kneeling, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
- Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools
- Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
