About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate labor coordination with Human Resources, management, and supervision throughout the region
  • Attend project staff meetings and assemble labor projections to track manpower needs
  • Review manpower needs by building and determine labor moves with the Operations Manager, supervision, and labor teams
  • Track labor movement across projects
  • Score employee safety and production results to determine retention and dismissal decisions
  • Maintain and update project labor schedules
  • Attend weekly superintendent, monthly financial, project kick-off, and other project meetings
  • Review manpower-loaded charts and schedules
  • Compare upcoming project needs with existing schedules to pre-assemble workforces and recruiting plans
  • Develop and execute labor needs for local and remote projects
  • Enter pay and allowance changes in the company HR portal
  • Travel to remote markets and build relationships with schools, suppliers, labor companies, job fairs, and other recruiting sources
  • Conduct interviews in remote markets
  • Coordinate and oversee all non-union labor
  • Organize and manage in-house orientations for field new hires
  • Assist with employee orientation and training materials
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement field training certifications, processes, and manuals
  • Coordinate certifications for welding, soldering, ground pipe systems, refrigeration piping and joints, and PVC joints with unions or vendors
  • Evaluate field performance with superintendents
  • Establish performance improvement plans with superintendents
  • Interview field employees with recruiters to verify skills and market rates
  • Assist superintendents in recognizing key performers and supporting advancement
  • Establish ongoing training covering scheduling, daily reports, four-week look-ahead planning, labor forecasting, pre-planning, production evaluation, and company processes/procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 0–2 years of previous experience in all facets of managing labor and reporting, diversity outreach, and compliance strategies
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
