About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sign and seal engineering documents, as applicable
- Analyze, design, and evaluate mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronic, and energy systems
- Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications under established standards
- Create detailed system configurations and control schemes focused on long-term energy savings
- Conduct field investigations and support site visits
- Coordinate and plan 3D laser scanning efforts
- Support project execution and coordinate with internal teams
- Apply engineering techniques within defined assignments
- Handle moderately complex issues and escalate complex problems to senior staff
- Develop client interaction skills in a supported setting
- Document existing conditions and observe construction progress at job sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Working knowledge of mechanical engineering systems and design principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to travel 10–25% of the time to job sites
- Ability to perform prolonged office work at a desk and computer
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and possibly scaffolding
- Ability to work in loud, extreme-temperature, and elevated field-survey environments
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
