About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sign and seal engineering documents and oversee technical quality
  • Lead the design and execution of complex mechanical systems and large-scale projects
  • Develop detailed system configurations and control schemes emphasizing long-term energy savings
  • Establish engineering approaches, design standards, and best practices
  • Provide technical oversight and review junior staff work
  • Manage discipline scope, schedules, and project budgets
  • Supervise field investigation and site visit planning
  • Review plans for 3D laser scanning efforts

  • Work independently with broad authority

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical system design and applications
  • Strong leadership, project management, and decision-making capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Advanced communication and client management skills
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Preferred: Experience managing large or program-level projects
  • Preferred: Experience in energy-as-a-service infrastructure delivery models
  • Ability to travel 10–25% of the time
  • Ability to work prolonged periods at an office desk and computer
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and possibly scaffolding
  • Ability to conduct field surveys in loud environments, extreme temperatures, and elevated locations
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
