Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a senior technical leader for complex mechanical systems in hospital and college campus energy and infrastructure projects
  • Sign and seal engineering documents and oversee technical quality
  • Lead the design and execution of complex mechanical systems and large-scale projects
  • Develop detailed system configurations and control schemes focused on long-term energy savings
  • Establish engineering approaches, design standards, and best practices
  • Provide technical oversight and review junior staff work
  • Manage discipline scope, schedules, and project budgets
  • Supervise field investigations and site visits; review plans for 3D laser scanning
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and external partners
  • Resolve complex technical and project challenges independently
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers
  • Support client relationships through technical input, proposals, and client engagement
  • Conduct field surveys to document existing conditions and observe construction progress

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical system design and applications
  • Strong leadership, project management, and decision-making capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Advanced communication and client management skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10–25% of the time to job sites
  • Ability to perform prolonged office work at a desk and computer
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and possibly scaffolding
  • Ability to work occasionally in loud environments, peak/low temperatures, and/or elevated locations
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Preferred: Experience managing large or program-level projects
  • Preferred: Experience in energy-as-a-service infrastructure delivery models
