About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day execution of assigned business-unit work from preconstruction through project closeout
- Develop and implement execution plans to maximize business objectives and profitability
- Manage Project Managers, General Superintendents, and Superintendents
- Allocate, coordinate, and assure quality of drafting resources within business units
- Implement productivity improvements and ensure project compliance and quality assurance
- Maintain consistency in project and field-management processes throughout the business unit
- Champion safety, discipline safety violators, and provide coaching to prevent problems
- Initiate and conduct project-review meetings, including reviews of status-report deviations, billings, and project cash positions
- Approve additional customer pricing, including change orders, back charges, claims, and contract changes
- Resolve cost-related issues between Installing and Engineering
- Identify and monitor upcoming Project Managers
- Track and report risk management, including certificates of insurance, subcontractor bonds, safety, and theft
- Assure customer satisfaction through the Project Manager/Superintendent team
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 8 years of verifiable experience in heavy ($20M+) plumbing and HVAC commercial construction
- State plumbing license or 5+ verifiable years as an Operations Manager
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills managing numerous superintendents and general superintendents on simultaneous projects
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to manage various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Industry and competitor knowledge
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- At least 6 months of safety training in another state
- Ability to travel 0–5% of the time to job sites/office locations
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions
- Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
