About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead day-to-day Project Controls execution, analysis, and integrity for assigned projects
  • Serve as the primary Project Controls resource and active project-team member
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Pre-Construction, Finance, and Project Controls personnel
  • Lead project setup and mobilization, including work breakdown structures, coding structures, baseline controls, responsibility assignments, reporting cadence, and execution requirements
  • Identify emerging performance issues, evaluate root causes, recommend actions, and escalate material risks
  • Lead cost management, including budgets, commitments, accruals, productivity, cash flow, cost trends, variances, and Estimate-at-Completion development
  • Prepare and analyze forecasts and reforecasts
  • Develop, maintain, update, and analyze project schedules, critical paths, milestones, progress, resources, and forecast completion dates
  • Facilitate project risk and opportunity identification, assessment, documentation, monitoring, and mitigation
  • Administer change management, including scope changes, claims, pricing, schedule impacts, back charges, and change logs
  • Incorporate energy production, savings, performance commitments, and related economics into Project Controls processes
  • Coordinate execution planning and project startup and develop baseline schedules, work breakdown structures, time-phased spend, procedures, and Project Execution Plan content
  • Coordinate with Operations Finance and Project Accounting on revenue recognition, margin, billing, cash, reforecasting, accruals, and month-end alignment
  • Develop and present Project Controls reports, dashboards, KPIs, cost curves, progress information, and management analyses
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to project controls personnel
  • Apply enterprise standards, tools, systems, and methodologies and support continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-year degree in engineering, construction management, business, finance, or related fields OR 2–5 years of relevant experience in project controls or project management
  • Relevant experience preferably in building construction or EPC
  • Experience using Primavera
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving attitude and high level of coordination skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working with others in a multifunctional team
  • Ability to accept change and work well under pressure
  • Understanding of JDE Edwards is a plus, not required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Awareness of contract and construction terminology
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to work with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
  • Ability to climb stairs and remain stationary, kneel, stand, or sit for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions
  • Ability to perform light work involving objects up to 20 pounds
