About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the entire project life cycle from inception through closure
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely within budget, schedule, and quality parameters while exceeding customer expectations
  • Participate in site planning, job hazard analysis reviews, toolbox talks, and site walks
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements
  • Conduct and document operational project meetings
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor agreements
  • Evaluate submittals against contract drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate quality assurance and quality control activities
  • Manage project scope coordination through the Building Information Management Department
  • Set up project finances, including equipment, labor, materials, direct job costs, and subcontracts
  • Conduct monthly project cost reviews and monitor schedule and budget deviations
  • Manage accounts receivable, pay applications, billings, and collections
  • Manage accounts payable and coordinate timely subcontractor and vendor payments
  • Obtain and coordinate lien waivers, state notifications, tax documentation, and permits
  • Manage budget and scope alignment through change management
  • Attend jobsite meetings, schedule deliveries, document site activities, review labor reports, requisition tools and materials, coordinate progress, track RFIs, assist with permitting and inspections, approve invoices, and prepare status reports and monthly billings
  • Build relationships with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Monitor risk management items, contracts, change orders, insurance policies, and bonds
  • Manage close-out documents, warranties, as-builts, start-up documents, and owner training
  • Manage applicable warranty work
  • Coordinate start-up and commissioning with project stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design and/or project management, mechanical construction, or facilities management
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of construction technologies, scheduling, equipment, materials and methods, and financial management
  • Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills and willingness to address challenges, resolve issues, and motivate others while maintaining relationships
  • Resourcefulness and focus on safety, field and financial performance, and client expectations
  • Up to 80% travel to job site(s)/office location
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
  • Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
  • Ability to move between worksites
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to work in noisy environments and outdoor elements
  • Construction Management or related technical degree preferred, not required
