About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all aspects of large data center construction projects
  • Manage project costs, field labor, and subcontractors
  • Ensure safe, on-time, and under-budget project completion
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment through site planning, job hazard analysis reviews, toolbox talks, and site walks
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements
  • Conduct and document operational project meetings
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor agreements
  • Evaluate submittals against contract drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate quality assurance and quality control
  • Manage project scope coordination through the Building Information Management Department
  • Set up project finances, including equipment, labor, materials, direct job costs, and subcontracts
  • Conduct monthly project cost reviews and monitor schedule and budget deviations
  • Manage accounts receivable, pay applications, billings, and collections
  • Manage accounts payable and coordinate with Accounting and Legal Departments
  • Obtain and coordinate lien waivers, state notifications, tax documentation, and permits
  • Manage budget and scope alignment through change management
  • Attend jobsite meetings, schedule deliveries, document site activities, review labor reports, requisition tools and materials, coordinate job progress, track RFIs, assist with permitting and inspections, approve invoices, and prepare status reports and billings
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Monitor risk management items, contracts, change orders, insurance policies, and bonds
  • Manage project close-out documents, warranties, and owner training
  • Manage warranty work within contractual obligations
  • Coordinate start-up and commissioning processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience in large ($50+M) hyperscale data center construction
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline OR 10+ years of Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • 6 day work week
  • Ability to perform physical activities including climbing stairs, ascending and descending ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
  • Ability to move about to accomplish tasks or move between worksites
  • Ability to work in noisy environments and outdoor elements including precipitation and wind, low temperatures, and high temperatures
  • Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
