About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start up complex equipment and assist technicians with complex equipment and systems
- Diagnose and repair sequence-of-operation, controls, hydronic, and VRV systems
- Work with engineers, vendors, and OEMs to correct mistakes, errors, and changes
- Facilitate review of critical documents to generate the pre-commissioning plan with the operations team
- Verify job-site equipment matches submittal documents for voltage, amps, horsepower, and other specifications
- Review specifications against submittals
- Mentor and develop technicians and other employees through direct mentorship
- Work overtime on occasion
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years' experience
- EPA 608 Certification
- Knowledge of complex system concepts and troubleshooting methodologies
- Safety habits
- Copper tube brazing
- Time management
- Troubleshooting system knowledge
- Hydronic systems
- VRF systems
- Chiller operation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to tackle ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Industry and competitor knowledge
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Ability to work at the job site/office location
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to work in tight and confined spaces
- Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools
- Ability to move or adjust objects weighing up to 100 pounds or more
- Must participate in 30 hours of continuing education
