About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start up most complex equipment and assist technicians with complex equipment and systems
- Diagnose and repair sequence of operation, controls, hydronic systems, and VRV systems
- Work with engineers, vendors, and OEMs to correct mistakes, errors, and changes
- Facilitate review of critical documents to generate the pre-commissioning plan with the operations team
- Verify equipment on the job matches submittal documents for voltage, amps, horsepower, and other specifications
- Review specifications against submittals
- Provide direct mentoring to employees within or outside the department
- Develop newer talent through direct mentorship of technicians
- Work overtime on occasion
Requirements
What you’ll need- 30 hours of continued education
- 8+ years' experience
- EPA 608 Certification
- Knowledge of complex system concepts and troubleshooting methodologies
- Ability to develop safety habits, copper tube brazing, time management, troubleshooting system knowledge, hydronic systems, VRF systems, and chiller operation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Able to work outdoors, in noisy environments, and in tight or confined spaces
- Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools
- Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 100 pounds or more
