About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects
  • Manage project costs, field labor, and subcontractors
  • Ensure safe, on-time, and under-budget project completion
  • Manage installation of HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems to code, budget, and schedule
  • Maintain working knowledge of safe work practices in occupied hospitals and healthcare facilities, including infection control
  • Evaluate estimates and establish job-costing systems with labor, material, and subcontract cost codes
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders
  • Evaluate submittals against contract drawings and specifications
  • Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews to identify deviations from plans or schedules
  • Keep participants and stakeholders informed to deliver projects on time and under budget
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal customers
  • Evaluate and develop field personnel, including workers, foremen, and superintendents
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline OR 10+ years of Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing
  • Extensive experience in large ($5+M) heavy commercial construction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 40–60% travel to job sites/office location
  • Ability to work safely in occupied hospitals or other healthcare facilities, including infection control
  • Ability to climb stairs, remain stationary for prolonged periods, repeat wrist/hand/finger motions, and move between worksites
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
