About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects
  • Manage project costs, field labor, and subcontractors
  • Ensure safe, on-time, under-budget project completion
  • Manage installation of HVAC, Plumbing, and Medical Gas systems to code, budget, and schedule
  • Evaluate estimates and establish job costing systems with labor, material, and subcontract cost codes
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders
  • Evaluate submittals against contract drawings and specifications
  • Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews to identify deviations from plans or schedules
  • Keep participants and stakeholders informed
  • Build and maintain customer relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal customers
  • Evaluate and develop field personnel, including workers, foremen, and superintendents
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline OR 10+ years of Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing
  • Extensive experience in large ($5+M) heavy commercial construction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with ability to perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to travel 40–60% of the time to job sites/office locations
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices in occupied hospitals or healthcare facilities, including infection control
  • Experience with HVAC, Plumbing, and Medical Gas installation and code requirements
